We will be starting this week off with a guest post from our fellow Mil-spouse entrepreneur, Brianna. She writes about making your home beautiful after a PCS and how her business can help. Learn more about Brianna in the bio included at the end of the article!
PCS Season is here!
One of the most difficult times for a military family is the stress of a big move. The checklist seems insurmountable, as the entire move is organized down to the bacon grease being packed in with your HHGs only to be discovered months later. What if your move could be simplified? What if your family was able to move into a home that was ready to go, enabling your family to connect with your new community?
Based in Design was created especially for military families. An interior design firm focused on creating beautiful designs for the military family on the move. As an Air Force spouse, I saw a need for families moving into a new home with their existing furniture, only to find that none of it seemed to fit correctly in their new space. As I listened to many friends struggle to get connected into their new community because they couldn’t seem to “get their house settled”, I began to see a need. Seeing this new need, I decided that I could meet it, and the idea for Based in Design was formulated.
Military families have a unique situation when it comes to interiors. Usually, we are stuck with homes that aren’t exactly our dream home; full of white walls, awkward spaces, and just outright ugly finishes. Based in Design strives to make these temporary homes a place of beauty and respite in a time of chaos. It is my goal to provide families with quality furniture and accessories and fabulous finishes at an affordable price. With the ability to ship worldwide, I am enabled to serve those near and far to our current station.
One of the most unique offerings is that of e-design services. With modern communication and technology, I am able to work with clients worldwide via email, Skype, FaceTime, and photography to complete full designs for each client. Style surveys and client participation makes the service more affordable for you! E-Deisgn is a partial DIY approach to design, as I will walk you through measuring your space, taking photographs, and providing feedback. In doing this all remotely, you are able to save money and have a beautiful space within your own timeline and budget. Just need help arranging furniture in your new space? Let me make the move easy and design layouts for your existing furniture in your new space. It’s a simple point- and – place install for your moving team, enabling your family to immediately feel settled in your new home. From quick layouts for furniture or color schemes to a full “forever” home design, you can count on Based in Design to provide quality design services at a great price.
PCSing and acclimating to new surroundings doesn’t have to be stressful. Contact Based in Design today for a free quote. I’d be thrilled to answer any questions you may have regarding design services.
A Little About Brianna:
Making a house a home takes a certain knack – being able to turn bare walls and transfer beige carpeting into a warm, signature place that feels like home is an art.
Brianna Beninati has that knack.
She’s a military spouse, who knows the importance and the struggle of getting it just right and making your temporary house a home.
She works with all the various branches of the military. She is in the process of gathering house plans of bases throughout the world. She currently works with clients — in person in Columbus, Mississippi — and elsewhere via computer through E-Design. A service where people can take photos of a space and allow her to place their furniture, add color and items to make that space reflect their own tastes.
Based in Design is a business built on helping people transition to a new place and home no matter the branch or the budget. No matter the house you currently live in, it can always be molded into a space where you find joy, comfort, and community.
